Editorial standards

Trust should be operational, not decorative.

HANN separates independent editorial judgment from paid communication and explains anything that could reasonably affect the audience’s trust.

01

Independent editorial

HANN controls the topic, testing, observations, conclusion and verdict. Brands cannot purchase, approve or alter the conclusion. Product access does not guarantee coverage.

02

Paid branded content

Commercial content follows an agreed campaign brief and is labelled clearly. HANN may communicate supported product messages, but will not publish claims it knows are false, misleading or unsupported.

03

Sponsored editorial and review partnerships

A sponsor may support content but cannot buy a guaranteed positive conclusion. Editorial rights, factual review, disclosure, usage and approval boundaries must be agreed in writing.

04

Product access

Loan units, retained review products, travel support and other material relationships are disclosed where relevant. Access never determines the verdict.

05

Affiliate links

Some links may eventually earn HANN a commission at no additional cost to the audience. Affiliate availability or commission cannot determine a recommendation.

06

Corrections

Meaningful errors are corrected visibly and proportionately. A correction changes something that was wrong; an update records something that changed after publication.

07

Conflicts

Relevant personal and commercial relationships are disclosed and managed. Coverage may be reassigned, independently reviewed or declined when a conflict cannot be managed credibly.
